I. Permanent
Deposit Collection
This collection
includes various pieces of AV equipment which are deposited
upon request in member libraries on long-term loan. This equipment
is to be used for library programming in the library or by
library staff outside the library. The equipment is not to
be loaned, and should be stored in a secure location. WLS
will train library staff in the proper use of all equipment
deposited. The equipment is placed on the System maintenance
program of regular cleaning and inspection.
At the
time of deposit, one replacement lamp is provided; there-after,
lamps will be supplied by the member library. For convenience,
the System will hold a supply of replacement lamps which may
be drawn upon.
II. Rotating
Collection
This collection
includes various pieces of AV equipment which may be requested
to fill specific programming needs. This equipment is to be
used for library programming in the library, or by a library
staff member outside the library. The equipment is not to
be loaned, and should be stored in a secure location when
not in use. Reservations should be made with the Media Specialist
as far in advance as possible. Reservations are filled on
a first come, first served basis.
The collection
includes: 16mm projectors, carousel slide projectors, sound
filmstrip projectors, sound filmstrip viewers, record players,
microfilm reader, 8mm projectors, overhead projector, screens,
TDD's (telecommunication devices for the deaf), equipment
engraver, and 35 mm camera.
III.
Deposit Circulating Collection
This collection
includes various pieces of AV equipment which are deposited
in member libraries and may be circulated to member library
patrons. The member library shall instruct the patron in (ordinary
wear expected) of the equipment, the lending library's policy
for retrieval or payment will be followed. The Winnefox Library
System may request circulation statistics of the equipment.
Currently, only the Oshkosh Public Library and the Neenah
Public Library participate in this component.
