MAJOR CHALLENGES/OPPORTUNITIES FACING OPL and WINNEFOX

In order to best determine the abilities and qualifications of the next director for OPL and Winnefox, it will be most helpful to look out 3-5 years and anticipate the major challenges and opportunities facing Oshkosh Public Library, the member libraries of Winnefox and the Winnefox Library System itself. They may often be the same and they may differ – but they are probably all inter-related in some ways. It will help the boards if you take a little time to think about and respond to the following questions. Thanks.

Examples might be:

Identifying alternate sources of revenue.

Improving the communication of the value/importance of the library in a more

competitive local fiscal environment.

Identifying the preferred means of information access for new generations of

library users and devise service programs to meet.

Please identify the 3-5 most significant challenges/opportunities (short and long-term) that will face the new director and rank them in order of importance (1 being most important).
